Yesterday we discovered that our new filly, born on October 10, 2007 had vanished. Of course we thought of predators right away but we combed every inch of the pasture and the surrounding fields, ditches, roads etc. and there is absolutely no sign of her. Her dam is not looking for her so we know she is nowhere near. We are reasonably sure that the predators who took her are of the two legged variety. I have called all of the vets within a 2 hour radius in case someone brings her in or comes to get foal replacer. I only have photos from the day she was born but at least you can get an idea of what she looks like, her markings and so on. Of course she has filled out quite a bit and her head is more shapely now, neck is longer and so on. She is a bright chestnut arabian filly with two hind socks and a star and snip. We live in Quill Lake, Saskatchewan which is in east central Saskatchewan. Please pass the word along to anyone you know who knows people with horses. She is only 11 days old today and will quickly become dehydrated if whoever has her doesn't realize how young she is and that she needs foal replacer.
